Shipping Container Roll-Up Doors in Florida

If you need another loading point or easier access along the side, a roll-up door may make your storage container more useful. We can add roll-up doors to new and used container projects. Tell us what you will move in and out, and we can work through the opening, position and space around it with you.

Plan around what moves through the opening

List the largest items you will load, including anything on a cart or pallet. Send their measurements and explain how you will move them. You need enough room for the whole movement, from approaching the door to getting the item inside.

Think about your daily routine as well as the occasional large delivery. Will you collect tools, move equipment or load stock throughout the day? Tell us what would be easier with another opening so we can understand what you need.

Choose the position before arranging the interior

Mark the door where you would like it on a simple sketch. Add the existing cargo doors, shelves, work areas and anything else that will go inside. If you want several openings, show which part of the contents you need to reach through each one.

Outside, show the approach, nearby buildings and the direction your container will face. Ask about the actual clear opening, room for the door assembly and the space you will need to operate it.

Include the complete installation in the discussion

There is more to adding an opening than choosing a door. Ask what cutting, framing or reinforcement your proposed position needs, how the surrounding steel will be finished and how the opening will be sealed.

Tell us how you want to lock the door and what conditions it will face at your property. If your contents need particular weather protection or temperature control, include those requirements when we put together the specifications.

Coordinate access with other modifications

If you regularly walk in without moving larger items, you may want a personnel door as well. Bring up any AC or interior plans at the same time so we can look at where everything will go.

If people will work inside, ask which design and approval questions need attention. Planning a regularly occupied workspace involves more than deciding how you will store and reach its contents.

What to send for a roll-up door quote

A rough drawing is useful even if you have not settled every detail. We can talk it through with you and identify what else is needed to prepare a more specific quote.

  • Your preferred 20ft or 40ft container, new or used.
  • What you will move through the door, the clear opening you need and where it should go.
  • How many openings you want, plus any personnel-door or AC plans.
  • Your delivery ZIP code, door direction and photographs of the approach.

A few things worth knowing

Can the roll-up door go on the side or end?

Let us know where you would like it and show us your layout. We need to check the container, opening size and installation requirements before agreeing on the position.

Can I keep the original cargo doors?

Tell us whether you want to keep using them. Leave room to reach and open them in your layout, and make sure your quote includes the arrangement you agree with us.

Can you add multiple roll-up doors?

Tell us how many openings you want and what each will be used for. We will need to look at their positions, the space left inside and any framing they require.

What does the modification price include?

Your quote should spell out the door, opening preparation, framing, finishing, locking and delivery work. The price depends on the arrangement you choose.
